Easter Garland

If you can't tell, I'm hooked on making holiday garlands!

I made this Easter egg garland last week. I had the Easter bunny print and just cut it into egg shapes.

Although I like the banner, it is cute enough, I wasn't quite satisfied with it. It didn't make me smile ever time I saw it like the last couple I have made.

Then I saw this tutorial to make a PEEPS bunny bunting, and I knew I had to try it!

I'm not a huge fan of Peeps, but they sure make a cute Easter banner.

Here is my version:

Look at all the cute little bunnies!

These were a bit more work than the others I have made since there are two layers sewn together. But they ended up so cute, it was worth it!

While I was cutting out the bunny shapes, my boys were trying to play with them. So I cut out a couple extra shapes and made them into finger puppets. So fun!

These Shoes are Made for Walking

My one year old is just starting to walk. He needed some bigger shoes that had a bit more traction than the fabric ones he had been wearing.

This is what I made for him:

And, this is what they were before, an old purse that was given to me, that I pulled out of my going-to-Goodwill pile:

All they cost me was a dollar or so for a leather needle. :)

Shamrock Garland

After taking down my heart garland, I wanted to do something for St. Patrick's Day. Inspired by Simply Designing, I decided to make a shamrock garland. I cut them out of shades of green felt I had on hand. The shamrock shapes were a bit harder to cut out then the hearts, but it still wasn't too hard.

Scripture Tote

My (now 4 year old!) son wanted to be able to bring his own copy of the scriptures to church with him. So I made a little tote bag. He picked out the fabric. I made it with a pocket on the outside, as well as a similar pocket on the inside. When I was done with it, he was so excited, he had to play "going to church" right then. He has taken it to church the last couple weeks and it is nice to put the little pictures and things that they make during Primary inside it, too.

Locket

This was a quick and easy project. I had recently ordered a family picture from Shutterfly, which came with a proof page with a tiny family picture. I put it aside, thinking I could do something with it. Then I ran across this locket that I have had for ages. It needed a nice little picture of my family in it. I just cut the little picture down to the right shape, and it fit perfectly!
