Letter I

On the capital "I," we made fingerprint insects.
The lower case "i" is an ice cream cone.
We also read a book and wrote down all the words that started with the letter "I."

Snowmen

We have an abundance of baby food jars that I have been trying to think of something fun to do with. To make our snowmen, we just painted the jars white, painted the lid (and a lid to a water bottle--hot glued on the top) black, hot glued on some ribbon for a scarf, and drew on the faces. You can tell which ones my son drew. :) I thought they turned out pretty cute. They made a good addition to the decorations on our mantle.

Castle

I have to say that the idea for this one was mine. We had a lot of toilet paper rolls to use, so I thought a castle would be fun. We made a prince out of roll, too, but it somehow didn't get in the picture. My son had a lot of fun painting this.

Stockings

I have made Christmas stockings for my family. Even though my baby boy was born in January, and I could have had nearly a year to make him a stocking, I waited until the last couple weeks to start it. I finished it just in time to put it up with our decorations. Here are all of our stockings, hung on our mantel.

Here is a close up of the newest addition, the little gingerbread man. All the details I hand sewed felt pieces on, or hand embroidered. I especially like the mini rickrack.

Girly Baby Shoes

I made these shoes for my friend's baby.

On the black ones, I embroidered some little white flowers.

For the brown ones, I made little removable flowers that button on.

Pink...

and purple:

I have these in my Etsy Shop!

Airplane

My son wanted to make an airplane out of toilet paper rolls. Sometimes he thinks we can make just about anything. Some things are harder than others! He insisted that two of the rolls be "wheels" on the bottom. It looks more like a pontoon plane. He had to color it his favorite color, pink.
