One thing my preschooler likes to do while I sew is play with my supplies. He likes to make people out of embroidery floss, googley eyes, and buttons:
He also likes to cut fabric. I have a small box full of little scraps that are "his" so he knows that is the only thing his is supposed to cut.

Letter L
For the capital "L," we gathered leaves and stuck them on contact paper, then cut out to the letter.
The lower case "l" has lollipops made from tracing a coin for the circle, and a line drawn down for the stick.
We also read a book and wrote down all the words that started with the letter "l."

Pillow Covers
After taking off my Christmas pillow cases, I wanted something new. I made these two pillow covers with some gorgeous floral fabric I picked up as a remnant at JoAnns. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it when I bought it, but I really like it on my pillows!
One pillow got a ruffle edge, and one got a corded edge.

Vinyl Sign
I made this sign for my parents for Christmas. It was kind of a last minute project after we were in Utah for our vacation. I was glad my in-laws knew someone with a vinyl machine, and that my brother-in-law had some extra wood that he cut for me!

Hanging Towel
I guess I hadn't published this post. It has been in my drafts for a while. I made these before the Christmas ones I made.
We were given a couple of towels like this when we got married. I love to have one hanging on my oven. I was looking at it and decided it wouldn't be very hard to make. I made two like this for me:
And these two for my sister who recently got married:

Hooded Towels
Santa also brought these hooded towels for my 2 boys:
Close up of the appliqued letters:
I kind of made up my own pattern, but got ideas from Craft and Make It and Love It.

Letter K
For the capital "K," we cut out, colored and pasted on a kite.
The lower case "k" is kicking a ball.
We also read a book and wrote down all the words that started with the letter "k."

Volcano Dinosaur Mat
Santa's elves were busy before Christmas. :) My 3 year old loves dinosaurs and is pretty fascinated by volcanos. So Santa brought him a bunch of dinosaurs, as well as this play mat:
It has a small volcano to go inside, and then folds up to look like a volcano.
The pattern and instructions can be found from Craft blog.

Christmas Towel
Now that the craziness of Christmas and traveling is past, I wanted to post some things that I made for Christmas.
I made a few of these towels for the women in the family that were on our gift list.

Letter J
On the capital "J," we drew jellyfish.
The lower case "j" has a picture of a juggler, with stickers for the balls he is juggling.
We also read a book and wrote down all the words that started with the letter "j."
